Dive Trips
NSW DIVE TRIPS

Le Scat at Bowen Island
Le Scat at Bowen Island, Jervis Bay over Easter 2005

We arrange weekend dive trips about once a month. Members benefit from any dive discounts offered by shops and this reduces the cost to members. Sometimes we even subsidise dive weekends and we nearly always throw on free a Saturday night barbecue. As we have been running dive trips for a long time to every location in New South Wales, we know the best operators to use and the best value places to stay. This ensures members get the best dive experiences at the best price.

In 2007 we had trips to Jervis Bay (twice), Shellharbour, South West Rocks (three times), North Solitary Islands, South Solitary Islands, Norah Head, Swansea (twice), Nelson Bay, Forster/Seal Rocks and Ulladulla. As well, the girls have a trip to Nelson Bay planned.

In 2008 we had trips to South West Rocks, Jervis Bay (twice), Ulladulla, Terrigal, South Solitary Islands, North Solitary Islands, Forster/Seal Rocks, Nelson Bay (twice) and the girls are having their trip again.

In 2009 we have trips to South West Rocks, Jervis Bay (twice), Ulladulla, Norah Head, North Solitary Islands, Forster/Seal Rocks, Eden/Merimbula, Nelson Bay (twice) and the girls are having their trip again.

Our dive calendar is set annually in around October for the next year. This calendar is created with input from all interested members. Anyone can suggest a dive or weekend. See the Calendar Page for more details of the current year's diving.

OVERSEAS/INTERSTATE TRIPS

Dinner time
Dinner at Blue Lagoon Resort, Chuuk Lagoon, September 2004
Most years we organise overseas or interstate dive trips. Recent trips have been:

  • 1995 - Vanuatu
  • 1996 - Papua New Guinea
  • 1997 - Chuuk Lagoon
  • 1998 - Vanuatu and Western Australia
  • 1999 - Fiji and Vanuatu
  • 2000 - Pacific Cruise
  • 2001 - Solomon Islands and Great Barrier Reef
  • 2002 - Vanuatu
  • 2003 - South Australia
  • 2004 - Chuuk Lagoon and Tonga
  • 2005 - Vanuatu
  • 2006 - Great Barrier Reef
  • 2007 - Great Barrier Reef
  • 2008 - Chuuk Lagoon, Great Barrier Reef, Papua New Guinea and Palau
  • 2009 - Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Tasmania, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu
  • On these trips we have had up to 24 members travelling. Some of these trips are run in conjucntion with other dive clubs, including the Ryde Underwater Club and DOUTS. All of them have been outstanding successes.

In 2008 we had another Undersea Explorer trip to the Great Barrier Reef, a trip to Rabaul and Kavieng in Papua New Guinea, a trip to Chuuk Lagoon and another to Palau.

In 2009 we have a trip to Thailand (February - almost full), Papua New Guinea (replaces Great Barrier Reef cancelled due to boat going broke - October), Tasmania (February/March - full), Solomon Islands (probably September) and Vanuatu (later in year).

These trips are tailored to our needs, you get to do what you want to do at the right price. We do not load up the trip with extra $ to cover the dive organiser's costs and we pass on any discounts we receive. This normally equates to a discount of at least 15% less than the cost if you organised it yourself and in some cases more than 25% less than an identical shop organised trip.

Finally, you get to travel with friends, with people who you already have dived with and know.
